Common settings
for Fldigi
This is for reference if
you upgrade or reinstall the program, deleting the Fldigi .files
which keep user settings. For complete setup help go to Fldigi online
help and the help for your interface.
Only check rig control
if you are actually using either CAT or hamlib rig control.
Use this setup if you are
using an interface other than Signalink USB.
You will have to find the
COM port that your device is plugged in to.
Here is how you set up
Windows Vista for use with the Signalink USB interface. Go to control
panel >hardware and sound> Manage audio devices
First make sure you have the USB cable to
the Signalink plugged in, and the power button of the Signalink
on. You’ll see green light light up .
Make sure you have no other audio inputs such
as headphones or microphones plugged into your system since they
will confuse Vista.
Vista
The signal link will be
recognized as USB audio codec.
Make sure that your speakers output level
is set above 80% for the push to talk function on the interface
to work. Test it in Fldigi by pushing the tune button at the top
right of the screen. If the red push to talk light works you’re
good.
In Fldigi configuration
pane, set sound card sample rate to 32000 if using the Tigertronics
SL-USB interface. This seems to work the best. If the sample rate
is wrong you may get pulsing when you send a tone with the tune
button. I corrected the sound card against WWV to arrive at the
59 PPM factor. You may get different results.
